Amos Groth
Amos Groth, interior designer and principal of Groth & Sons has a long-established tradition of creating bespoke rooms that fuse classic with contemporary, and sensibility with sophistication. Originally from the U.K. Amos apprenticed in some of London’s grandest homes, his solid background in building construction and hands-on experience in architectural restorations gave him a practical head start and unique advantage upon entering the realm of interior design.
With a reputation for being uncompromising when it comes to quality of finish, Amos established Groth & Sons in 1998, carving a name for himself with his high level of personal service and his ability to consistently offer his clients something unexpected and out of the ordinary, as well as the promise that with his unique understanding of the best way to build that fashion will never subvert function.
Commissions range from one-off pieces of custom cabinetry, bespoke library fit outs through to complete residential design. Amos’s extensive experience and triple-talent marriage of joinery, architectural and interior design principles result in rooms superior in both function and style; elegant, individual interiors which are innovative and timeless.

Oscar Groth
Oscar first began working in the design field whilst helping his Dad and older brother, on the
restoration of their
family home, the Heritage listed “Woodlands” in Summer Hill.
Since his initial foray, Oscar has been working in, and on,
the business full-time for the past five and a half years. During which, he has completed a Cert IV
Carpentry and
Joinery, a Cert III Kitchen, Laundry, bathroom, and is currently
studying Interior
Design at Design Centre Enmore.
Oscar brings an innovative approach to the business, being of the younger
generation has helped set up Groth & Sons with state-of-the-art technology.
Comfortable with his CAD skills, has gone on to train in the use of Pytha 3D
CAD, and enroute, CAD/ CAM design software, allowing Groth & Sons to send
their innovative designs to a nested-based production. As well as this Screen
to machine approach, he is constantly honing his hands-on skills and finishing
techniques.
This aptitude for good design stems from his constant accumulation of skills,
some learnt first-hand, others handed down through generations of artisans.
As well as his father, Oscar’s Grandfather apprenticed as a decorative painter,
and his Great Grand Father, William Henry Groth, as a carpenter and joiner.
On his grandmother’s side, he is a descendent of Harold Charles Francis
Harvey, the 20th Century British painter, who with best friend Ernest Procter,
established the Harvey-Procter School in Newlyn, Cornwall. So, it appears that
the aptitude shown for design and his artistic flair may well be the
combination of both, hard work and genetics.
